How to make a donation?
You could donate to the Foundation either online or by sending us a cheque/ Demand Draft.
Here's what you have to do to make a donation online:
Select your donation detail. Specify your amount.
1. Donors who have registered online previously only need to fill in their email id.
2. For first time donors, you are requested to please fill in the personal details and other fields of the form. All fields are mandatory. We require it to process your receipt.
3. Your selection will be displayed for review. Please check the information carefully "email id, address, tax status etc. and make sure that it is correct. If not, change them as desired.
4. (mention here which type of cards are acceptable and which are not)
5. Once you confirm the details are correct, you will now be taken to HDFC payment gateway. Fill in your credit card details. You will get an immediate confirmation of your donation. You will also receive an email message with a donation number.

Here’s what you have to do to donate by cheque/demand draft
If you would like to make your contribution by cheque or demand draft, you'll need to download a form (33 KB PDF file), print it, fill it in, attach the cheque or draft (made in favour of Biocon Foundation) and mail it to the Biocon Foundation Office at:

What is the donation used for?
The Foundation uses donations to strengthen program execution aspects of the project chosen by the donor and does not channelize donation towards administrative costs. General donation are utilized in priority areas under the discretion of the Foundation. Please give us your email details for regular updates.
What is the donor information used for?
The information captured is necessary for registering donors on our database so that they do not have to reenter their information when they visit the site again and to receive updates, if they choose to do so. For more detailed information, please view the Privacy policy.
Is the online donation process secure?
Yes it is. The credit card information is not stored with the Foundation and cannot be accessed after the transaction is complete.
If this is the first time that you are doing any online transaction involving use of a credit card, you need to ensure that the transaction is secure. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, click on "Help" from the menu options. Select "About Internet Explorer" to find the cipher strength (encryption level) of your browser. What is the minimum amount for donation?
Please avoid making a donation of less than Rs. 1000/- as the processing costs make it unviable for us.
Is there a Tax benefit to the donor as a result of their contribution?
Money you give to Biocon FOundation is tax-deductible.
Under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, you can get a 50% deduction on the donation.
These deductions are available for sums up to 10% of your taxable income (that is, your gross total income, minus deductions, minus capital gains, minus income exempt from tax, minus section 10 deductions).*
Non Indians
Are not eligible for tax exemption as this benefit is valid only in India

Why is the passport number necessary if the donor is making a contribution by cheque or Demand Draft?
We require this information for NRI (Non-Resident Indians) donors who are Indian citizens having an Indian passport. This is because their contribution goes into a separate account as per the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, (FCRA), 1976.
How will the donation be confirmed?
The donor will receive immediate confirmation of transaction through the payment portal as well as emailed confirmation with donation number. Tax exemption certificate delivered within 45 working days.
